X Models ION

X MODELS ION .....
The X Models ION was the first decent glider I bought myself. After owning a FLY FLY thing and a 1.5 metre fox I decided it was time to move to something that would perform slightly better. At the time I didn't feel I was ready for a Fully Moulded glider so I thought this would be a good half way house due to the fact it had crow braking , was very strong and would take ballast

I bought it second hand , from memory it was £200 , came complete with all servos and was in beautiful condition.

Strengthened with Carbon

I am not sure when this glider went to market first , I would imagine it was in the very late 90's but it has to be said it was probably at the top end of the market when it was new. It was very very good quality. The fuz never had a blemish on it when I got it, you can see from the pics the quality of the interior and exterior. The servos in the wings were put in inside ROBBE servo houses, to take them in and out was a breeze

It has to be said that although this glider would handle a decent blow and would pick up a fair amount of pace I was always much happier flying in light to medium winds. On a summers day flying this off a bungee was an absolute joy, it was a very stable ,quite efficient purposeful glider.

In the end I sold it on e bay for a little more than I bought it for. The guy I sold it to bought it for the sole intention of flat field flying. He had owned one before and was very happy when he spotted this one.
